This article explains how to manage an SSID

1. How to add an SSID

2. How to configure an SSID

3. How to enable SSID on the device

4. How to delete SSID

1. How to add an SSID

The SSIDs can be added into your desired Network by clicking on Network name, then on WiFi SSID  tab and then "New WiFi SSID" button.
You can add as many SSIDs as you want in the Network, to a maximum of 8 SSIDs for each AP, and with one Captive portal for each AP.

Please enter the new SSID name which has to be unique for every Network, otherwise a red warning will popup
For example,  SSID named SSID1.

Also, Tanaza supports the emoticons in the SSID  name.
In this case, consider a single emoji occupies 4 character length. Max length of an SSID is 32.

After this, click "Add  SSID " button.

NOTE: You can not rename the SSID when added, so make sure you write the correct name, otherwise you should delete the SSID and create a new one.

2. How to configure an SSID

Once created, you can click on the SSID to enter the configuration page.
You will find every SSID for the selected network (in the example below is "Network1")

You can create another SSID also from here, same for edit and update the ones already created.
Clicking on an SSID name, you will be redirected to it's configuration, divided by default in three tabs:

The Summary page/screen displays the following information:
 - Wireless Network Name: The Network name in which we have added the particular SSID (Best Network in the World in our example)
 - SSID Name: The name which you added while adding the SSID (SSID-1 in our example)
 - Status: On how many Access Points is this SSID active (it is 0 since we have not enabled on any AP)
 - Encryption: By default, the SSID added is enabled with Open encryption that is, any user can associate
On the bottom, all the devices will be displayed for which this SSID is enabled.

You can select either of the options.

 - Open
 - WEP (Shared network key)
 - WPA2-PSK (Shared Network key)
 - Splash Page with Editor
 - Splash Page (without Radius)
 - Splash Page (with Radius)

Check here details about  Wireless Security Tab

With Tanaza firmware version higher than 2.3.0, you can configure bandwidth control for Wi-Fi devices, see   Bandwidth control per SSID
document for details.

3. How to enable SSID on the device

Select the device in which you want to enable the SSID.
You can only enable SSIDs included in the same network of the AP.
After selecting, please click on "AP settings" then SSIDs tab

You can turn on or off the SSID clicking on the button as showed below:

After enabling/disabling any SSID, please click Apply and wait for the confirmation message.

This will take up to approximately 45 seconds to implement the changes.
As you have now enabled the SSID on the Access Point, you can see the summary page for the particular SSID indicating the Access Point to which it is associated.
The status has changed from Active on 0 Aps to Active on 1 Aps
Also, on the right hand side the status has changed from No devices found to the name of the AP which uses this SSID profile

4. How to delete SSID

Any SSID associated to an Access Point cannot be deleted, otherwise will get an error.
Please make sure you first disassociate the AP form the SSID you want to delete.
To do so, go to the AP SSID tab, and disable it, then click on "Apply"

Then go to the SSID configuration and click on Delete.
This will prompt a message asking you to confirm.

After that the SSID will be deleted and you will return to  the SSIDs page.
